Automotive Engineering Division

  1. Lead the implementation of the World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations (WP29) and develop motor vehicle safety policies, type approval and harmonize domestic motor vehicle regulations in line with the WP29 framework.

  2. Carry out Vehicle Type Approval and vehicle testing for the purpose of recognizing the Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) in line with the World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations (WP29) framework in compliance with the Road Transport Act 1987.

  3. Regulating and monitoring PUSPAKOM, Professional Engineers, engineering workshops, accident repair workshops and Rebuilt workshops to ensure that activities carried out comply with the requirements under the Road Transport Act 1987 and Road Transport Rules.

  4. Evaluate and provide technical advice regarding construction and use of motor vehicles to comply with the Road Transport Act 1987 and the Rules below.
