Disclaimer Vehicle License Fees Rate Increase (MVL) for vehicles 880cc and above. Road Transport Department (RTD) has denied that there was an announcement about a rate hike of Motor Vehicle Licence (MVL) fees involving all types of vehicles 880cc and above starting from January 2017. The information is inaccurate and false has spread widely through social media and WhatsApp recently. The department is taking seriously the MVL fee rate increases issue because it may cause misunderstanding among the general public.

RTD would advise the public not to be easily influenced and believe any messages via social media and WhatsApp applications that do not have a valid source. If in doubt, the public is advised to refer directly to the Department and not to participate in spreading misinformation.
