Procedure for Cancellation and Refund of Motor Vehicle License Fee (LKM)

For the purpose of improving the existing procedures, JPJ has made several amendments to ensure that the Motor Vehicle License Fee (LKM) refund process can be implemented quickly and effectively

Terms of application:

  1. Applications can be submitted by the registered owner or representative. For vehicles owned by the Company / Agency, a power of attorney letter with “letterhead” and the official stamp of the Company / Agency must be submitted during the application at the counter;
  2. For applications for cancellation and refund of LKM fees involving transactions at the JPJ counter, the original LKM disk that has been canceled must be submitted at the counter on the day and place where the transaction was made. The submission of supporting documents can be submitted within seven (7) working days from the date of the LKM cancellation transaction at the same counter where the LKM submission was made;
  3. For cancellations involving vehicle title exchange transactions on MyEG / e-Auto and the JPJ Public Portal, the applicant must submit the canceled LKM disk together with the e-service receipt (original) to the JPJ within two (2) working days from the date of the exchange transaction vehicle title is done. The submission of supporting documents can be submitted within seven (7) working days from the date of submission of the LKM at the same counter where the LKM disk is submitted.;
  4. The refund must not be less than RM5.00; and
  5. There is no minimum limit for the duration of a motor vehicle license that is still valid.

 

Documents to be submitted:

  1. 2 (two) copies of Form JPJ K6 amended 1/2018;
  2. For applications submitted by the registered owner, the original ID and a copy must be submitted;
  3. For applications submitted by a representative, must be accompanied by a letter confirming the power of attorney of the registered owner, a copy of the registered owner’s ID and the original ID and a copy of the representative;
  4. Power of attorney (official letter with computer-printed “letterhead” with the official stamp of the Company/Agency) to the representative for the vehicle registered in the name of the Company/Agency.
  5. Copy of Form 49/Form 9/Form 13/Form D – Companies Act 1965 (if relevant). For Sabah and Sarawak, Business License Form by the relevant Local Authority (SSM/LP).
  6. Copy of Organization or Cooperative Registration (if relevant).
  7. A canceled LKM disk, or a Police Report as a replacement for the LKM disk for a vehicle involved in an accident/theft/natural disaster;
  8. LKM Reimbursement Details (printed from the MySikap system);
  9. e-Service Receipt (original) for vehicle title exchange transactions on MyEG/e-Auto/JPJ Public Portal;
  10. Copy of the front page of the registered owner’s Bank Statement / Bank Account showing the active account number.

 

Applications can be submitted at any State/Branch/UTC JPJ Office that carries out Vehicle Licensing activities according to the latest declaration area of ​​the vehicle.
