Implementation of Import Vehicle Registration
JPJ has implemented e-Daftar vehicle registration procedures since 2001, with the First Phase involving locally assembled and manufactured vehicles. Through this system, vehicle registration data is sent electronically by vehicle manufacturers and assemblers.
Effective June 1, 2010, the use of the e-Register system has been expanded and enforced on the registration of imported vehicles with data entry into the JPJ system made by the vehicle importing company. This enforcement is also implemented on imported vehicles that are brought in using Individual APs.
For Individual AP holders, the entry of vehicle registration information into the e-Daftar system can be done through one of the three (3) Gateway Providers (GP) as follows:

The documents that need to be submitted to the GP for the registration data entry process are as follows:
- Identification document of the owner
- Copy of Import License (AP)
- Copy of Customs Form K1 and
- Copy of Vehicle Inspection Report at PUSPAKOM.
- A service fee of RM50 will be charged for each data entry and transmission to the JPJ database. However, payment for any additional services is subject to agreement between the GP and the AP holder.
