DEMERIT POINTS SYSTEM FOR TRAFFIC OFFENCES (KEJARA)

Introduction

Demerit points will begin when a summons notice is settled, namely:

Driver's License Suspension

Driver's license suspension process is as follows:

First 20 points or more	Warning given Excess points brought forward
Next 20 points or more	Suspension not less than 6 months and not more than 12 months Rehabilitation course are offered to reduce suspension time Excess points removed
Next 20 point or more	Suspension not less than 6 months and not more than 12 months Driver's license will be revoked if it has been suspended 3 times over the period of 5 years

Insentif Berkelakuan Baik

Any individuals that do not commit any demerit offences within a period of one (1) year, a reduction of 50% from the points accumulated will be given.
