These guidelines were created to explain to vehicle users related standards or conditions that need to be followed for the modification process of private vehicles and commercial vehicles without having to make an application at this Department.

The recommended modifications only involve minor modifications or the installation of additional equipment (installation of accessories) that do not change the identity and do not interfere with the safety features of the vehicle where Section (12) of the Road Transport Act 1987 has set the legal requirements regarding any modification to the vehicle before and after its registration i.e. Motor Vehicle Inspection And Providing Information To The Director General
