Modifications to a vehicle must be done to adapt its use by the disabled to ensure that the modifications carried out comply with the regulations set and are safe for use by the disabled, JPJ has established the application procedure for vehicle modifications for the use of the disabled. The modifications carried out must comply with the following regulations:

1. Section 5(1)(a) – Road Transport Act 1987
2. Section 12(1)(d) – Road Transport Act 1987
3. Rule 94 – The Motor Vehicles (Construction And Use) Rules 1959
