Introduction :

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has mandated that every commercial vehicle must use the reflectors that have been set. This installation means that every commercial vehicle involved or related must meet the conditions set by JPJ.

Background :

The MS 828:2011 (Road Vehicle – Rear and Side Marking – Specification) standard was developed by SIRIM in 2011 which is based on the UN104 (Retro-Reflective Markings for Heavy & Long Vehicles) regulation which came into force from 1 January 2012. It is to improve safety other road users especially at night or in the dark at the same time can reduce the number of road accident cases.

Purpose :

1. Explain to the vehicle owner/manufacturer the procedures and conditions that must be followed for the installation of MS 828:2011 reflectors.

2. Ensure vehicle owners/manufacturers install reflectors based on established guidelines.
