The Demerit System was introduced to raise awareness and motor vehicle driver compliance to traffic rules. Driver which often makes traffic mistakes and has a lot of error records are more likely to endanger other road users. Implementation The Demerit System is seen to contain a motor vehicle driver it is from continuing to commit offenses and ultimately contributes to occurrence of accident and loss of life.
This Demerit System has been implemented in several countries including developed countries such as the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Germany, Singapore and others which give rise to further awareness and warnings contributing to the reduction of accident rate and road death.
