Vehicle registration number transfer is the process of transferring the registration number from a motor vehicle that has been registered (original) to a motor vehicle that has not been registered (new) and assigning a new registration number to the vehicle.

Terms of application:

1. Applications can be submitted by the registered owner of the vehicle or a representative.
2. Both the original and new vehicles are owned by the same owner.
3. The new vehicle has not been registered yet.
4. Only the original vehicle that wants to have the number transferred is required to undergo a PUSPAKOM inspection to identify the identity of the vehicle. For new vehicles, inspection is NOT required except for imported vehicles.
5. The original vehicle is not blacklisted by JPJ and PDRM.
6. The e-Insuran date is open for new vehicles after the registration number transfer is processed.
7. Fixed fees.

Documents to be submitted:

A. NEW VEHICLE

1. 2 (two) copies of the eRegister Checklist Form.
2. 2 (two) copies of JPJ Form K1 electronically printed.
3. Identification documents according to the type of applicant.
4. PUSPAKOM Inspection Report (B2) for handicapped vehicles or imported vehicles.
5. A copy of the Green Diesel Vehicle Approval Certificate (SIRIM) that is still valid (for green diesel vehicles).
6. Customs form K1 (for imported vehicles).
7. Import License (AP) original and copy (for imported vehicles).
8. Successful vehicle registration number reservation decision letter/form (if applicable); and
9. Fixed fees.

B. OLD VEHICLE

1. 2 (two) copies of Form JPJ K1E.
2. 2 (two) copies of JPJ Form K1A.
3. Identification documents according to the type of applicant.
4. Original Vehicle Registration Certificate (JPJK2).
5. PUSPAKOM Inspection Report (B2) or B5.
6. Confirmation/approval letter from Customs (for Labuan and Langkawi).
7. Original identity document and a copy of the representative (if a representative is present).
